| | | Hi, to do the above, and to have better control over the look and functionality of my blog in general, I was told I had to install word press on my webhost. How do I do that? I want to do that and then publish the new blog to derickmelander.com. I have all the control panel info and my webhost will allow the installation. | | | Well the plan was to have Fruity Cheerios and a plum. However....my Cherrios were stale so that ruined my morning. I ended up with a cookie and a plum so the morning was saved! | | | | | |

| | | I picked Greyzed for mine, it may not be to everyone's taste but to me it looks RAWK~! I will no doubt change it eventually as I get bored of having the same style for too long. My posts so far have mostly been pretty serious in nature, but I don't want people to think I'm some boring 50 year old. | | | | | |

| | | Dear HEs: When I navigate to my blog, I see posts "first-in-first-out." I strongly prefer to see them -- really, to have readers see them -- "last-in-first-out." In other words, how do I get my most recent post to be the first one visitors see when they go to my blog? Blog url: http://contentshaman.wordpress.com/ | | | | | |

| | | When you insert an image, there are three options as to what happens when you click on the image - see here: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/04/26/images-the-three-link-options/ You had originally set the images to link to attachment pages, and you changed them to link to the full-size originals. The comments were on the attachment page of the third image. What would you like to do, revert to the previous version of the page, or make the comments show up below the page as it is now? | | | | | |

| | | Really.. It is cool, but you can't add it into your blog since the code is an "iframe" code; which is not allowed in WordPress.com because of Security Reasons. :) | | | | | |

| | | Well, apparently you've done all you needed to do (except improving the top nav menu). Did you set "Blog" as your posts page in Settings > Reading? As for the menu: go to Appearance > Menus, click the cross to create a menu, give it a title (say, My Top Menu), click View All in the Pages module, tick "Home", "Blog", "Location" and "Request Information", click Add to Menu, click Save Menu, select that menu from the pulldown in the Theme Locations module, Save. | | | | | |

| | | I have noticed that three of my tags are listed with hyphens. For example: humor-2, food-2, flash fiction-2. After checking support, I realize that I was using too many categories and tags...not understanding that too many results in not making it to the global tags. I've since reduced the number but yet still find -2 on some of my tags. Why is that and what can I do to fix? Thanks very much. Blogdramedy Blog url: http://blogdramedy.wordpress.com/ | | | | | |

| | | - How can I add Google's website translator to my blog? http://translate.google.com/translate_tools?hl=en - The text widget allows me to add HTML but I think, the code that I have to add is javascripts. <div id="google_translate_element"></div><script> function googleTranslateElementInit() { new google.translate.TranslateElement({ pageLanguage: 'en' }, 'google_translate_element'); } </script><script src="//translate.google.com/translate_a/element.js?cb=googleTranslateElementInit"></script> - Is there any way to do that?¨ | | | | | |

| | | Hi, Thanks for the quick response. I'm referring to the "Blog Picture/Icon" uploader in the General Settings page of my blog's dashboard. I've uploaded an image of my company's icon (resized so I don't have to crop), and it doesn't appear that it's shown up in my blog (URL below): http://mofuseblog.wordpress.com/ I've tried clearing my browser's cache -- I'm using Firefox -- and nothing's happened. Please advise. Thanks, Ben | | | | | |

| | | Hi dlager, Thanks for the advice. I've looked at Fresh and Tags but the searchbar doesn't seem to like me. No matter what I search for it always brings up the same results. Oh well, I must be jinxed. Thanks for the tip. I'll try it again another day. | | | | | |

| | | The uploader is demanding for TypePad's .xml export file. It is good that you're moving to wordpress.com. Follow the steps to get your complete Typepad.com blog ported to wordpress.com: 1. Login to TypePad and go to Weblogs | Manage | Import/Export. 2. At the bottom of the page, (probably) look for the "Export:Your-Blog-Name" link. If you're using IE, right-click and Save as; otherwise, you can right-click and Save as or just open the link in your browser. 3. Save the file to your desktop with a .xml extension. That's it for the export. That file contains all of your posts,categories, comments, etc. Amazing how so much work can be pared down into such a small file, isn't it? Now continue the work by uploading that file to your dashboard. | | | | | |

| | | When I comment on others' blogs, my name does not hypertext back to my blog, so they'll never find me unless I advertise blatantly in their comment section, which seems rude. How can I enable them to click "fulloftruth" and go see my blog, too, if they want? Thanks. Blog url: http://fulloftruth.wordpress.com/ | | | | | |

| | | It can take up to 24 to 72 hours for domain mapping changes to migrate across the internet and you can have local caching issues with your ISP. However if you really did map to the wrong base blog then you need to contact the staff to have them straighten things out. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ | | | | | |

| | | Hi, I am having the same problem as methotol on another blog that I'm working on. Here's what I've got - this blog is a freebie blog off of wordpress.com so the url is: ourdogtrainingsite.wordpress.com wordpress is latest version no plugins Motion theme Settings - Readings - latest posts I have created 4 posts which show up in the sidebar under recent entries, but only the second post shows up on the actual homepage Since I have no plugins, can't re-upload anything, not sure how to fix this problem. Robin P.S. I'm also having this same issue on another website that has it's own domain name: http://www.thenauticallifestyle.com Blog url: http://ourdogtrainingsite.wordpress.com/ | | | | | |

| | | @Lisa, I agree with the things in your post. Instead of writing a post of my own though, I'll just add my suggestion/s here. Suggestion: Header Image - ability to downsize it in respect of height. In some themes I find the size overpowering and it doesn't always fit well with the content. I've seen other comments from other bloggers who have the same issue. My current work-around: I went to the extreme of customizing my current theme (zBench) to use the banner as a "header" with the help of CSS, but it won't work well in themes with post format options which actively uses the header image area. | | | | | |
