When I write anew post, I want to post them to a specific page. HOW do i do this? There's no option like "post to which page" when you make the post. It just always seems to appear on the main page. Secondly, I don't WANT any new post I make to automatically post to the home page. What if i want the home page to be static? I also somehow managed to apparently delete whatever page the "home" page was, as no post anymore finds itself to the homepage, it just says "sorry no posts matched your criteria" on the home page. I have changed the links within the main Flash to be the File URL. What do I need to do to get these to work? | | | | | | This is more a call for a new theme. While there have been a couple of themes made for WordPress.com which are supposed to have a social network, "Twitter" feel to them, they still do not meet what I'm looking for. All of these new additions of Asides and quickposts and twitter-like posts that multiple people can write on are great, but they all get put in line, one after the other. So you have a full fledged and fleshed out post behind an aside and then a gallery post, etc. To me that's just a bunch of clutter, especially if the asides are supposed to be brief comments, not a "real" post. What I'd love to see is a theme that is clean and basic, with at least three columns. Plenty of widgets for the third column and the bottom of the page, a standard header and paging application at the top. BUT, for two of the columns, make one only available for brief postings, such as asides - which would and do look like a Twitter post. I do not have a Twitter account, nor do I want one. However, I do like the idea of Twitter... brief comments. Sometimes I have something brief to say, however I don't feel it worth including in the line of regular posts. I don't want a "pinned" post that I'd have to unpin and/or rewrite. Does this make sense? Does this sound interesting? | | | | | |

I have a personal filmmaking blog (FollowMyFilm.com) and have recently started a multi-film project (7 Film, 7 Weeks), where I make one film per week for seven consecutive weeks. At this time, I created a page where I introduce the project, then post each film weekly as they are finished (I've made two so far!). Someone told me this is a bad idea, since there is only one comment thread. However, I prefer to keep all the films together, so I'm not keen on the idea of having a page for each film or posting the films on my blog. I like the thought of someone having access to all the films on one page. What do you think? Is the concern about one comment thread for a page with multiple content that is updated a solid concern? Can you think of a more effective way to manage the content for my current project? Thank you so much!!!

I have widened the header, and page contents to the length I want (980px) but I cannot figure out how to make it so that when I have a gallery it will work on a 980px length as well. I have tried working within the CSS code for the image gallery listed in the original code, but I cannot seem to get it to work. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I have read here before NOT to copy the original CSS and edit that and repaste it, but that is what I have had to do as it is the only time I have ever worked with CSS. | | | | | | I have been having trouble transferring a WP site from one server to another. Usually it is not this difficult but I seem to be having permission setting issues. First when I published the site "by the book", only some of the stylesheet information got transferred. So I started to adjust and set permissions to various folders so that perhaps maybe WP wasn't communicating properly with all the custom stylesheets. Now all my subpages have disappeared and I can not view any on the site except for the home page. Any help on what the permissions setting should be for all the folders? And maybe what they shouldn't be set at? Right now I have wp-admin set at 755
All system working after logging in, just can't preview the pages as they show up blank wp-content 755
Major failures across the board, all subpages are blank, home page lost its custom stylesheet data wp-includes 755

| | | | | | I have tried on numerous occasions to upload my videos from YouTube on my blog. It has worked in the past, but has not been working since I moved my blog from blogger to wordpress. If I am unable to post my videos then I do not see why I would continue to stay at wordpress. To upload I press the video icon in the new post, go to URL and copy and paste the address for my video. When I publish, nothing shows not even a link. I hope that you can remedy this situation as soon as possible. Thank you

I have since cancelled my account with hostgator and want to just use wordpress.com and the themes available.
